Nº Play is a feeder puzzle from P.I.HUNT 5. It consists of six grids as well as six expressions.
Solve Path[edit | edit source]
The grids are six logic puzzles which rules need to be inferred by the sample diagram, as the description is replaced by the "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". For a basic overview, the grid consists of labels that indicate the number of straight segments and is later used for extraction, though more rules need to be deduced later on.
- All spaces of the grid need to be traversed in a single loop. This allows for deduction on where straight segments must be. For example, corners can not have straight segments, and among the segments in the 2x2 square touching the corner, there must be a straight segment.
- Each letter stands for a different number, as otherwise, some grids may have multiple solutions. Therefore, identifying the possible number of segments per labeled region can make for useful bounding arguments.
Puzzle Elements[edit | edit source]
Logic Puzzle - Because the rules are in the "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" form, the exact rules need to be deduced.
