Tortured Clues (also known as Mangled Clues, Mutilated Clues, Tangled Clues, Cluetations, Word Transformers, or Anguished English) is a genre of Word Puzzle. Clue phrases are given, unspaced, and each word in the phrase has undergone a different sort of transformation. The goal of this puzzle is to decipher these transformations to find the answer to each clue. Usually, each clue will then have the transformation applied to the answer again, or have the transformation reversed.
