A Conundrum, sometimes called Konundrum is a type of Instructional Puzzle that involves a specific set of instructions to follow. These puzzles usually involve little ambiguity or ahas, but often involve steps that are confusing or convoluted enough to require significant time and effort from the solver.

The name comes from Duck Konundrum, a puzzle written by Dan Katz in MIT Mystery Hunt 2000. Since then, Duck Konundrum has become a genre of its own, usually reserved for Conundrums written by Dan, often involving Ducks. So while Duck Konundrums are a subset of Conundrums, they are often categorised separately.
