Edric's Treasure Hunt Chronology | |
Edric's 2022 Truzzle Hunt (the third non-treasure hunt in the series, and the second "truzzle" hunt) went live at 8:00 a.m. EDT on Saturday, July 2, 2022. The hunt was "set" upon a Rubik's Cube. After watching a short introductory video (https://youtu.be/KLAMnx4jXu0), solvers were placed on the White face of the cube with puzzles facing in all four directions. Solving a puzzle would "portal" the solver to the next face in that particular direction.
Once solvers had amassed a sufficient number of feeder solutions, they could solve the first (pure) metapuzzle. Submitting this solution brought them to a page where the Rubik's Cube on which they'd been traveling had been scrambled. Solvers then had to use the old feeder solutions (and the limited views of the scrambled cube those solutions afforded) to figure out how to reconstruct a solved cube. Once all the faces were again monochromatic, solvers could index into the feeder solutions to discover the final cluephrase.
List of Rounds[edit | edit source]
Round | Number of Puzzles | Notes |
---|---|---|
White Face | 4 | |
Red Face | 4 | |
Green Face | 4 | |
Orange Face | 4 | |
Blue Face | 4 | |
Yellow Face | 4 | Click to revealThe four puzzles on this face of the cube were actually interrelated, as each puzzle contained information crucial to solving a different puzzle on that face. This was inspired by a quartet of puzzles in an earlier Mezzacotta Puzzle Hunt. |
Initial Meta | 1 | No actual metapuzzle was posted, as this was a pure metapuzzle. |
Final Meta | 1 | The shell of this metapuzzle involved Roman numerals printed on the stickers of the cube. These Roman numerals were used for indexing into the solutions once the scrambled cube was solved. |
