Mark Halpin's Labor Day Extravaganza, is a puzzle hunt generally run every year (with two exceptions, once in 2013 and once in 2021), starting with its inception in 2006. As the name suggests, the hunt is held on the United States federal holiday Labor Day weekend, typically releasing on the Saturday before the first Monday in September. The puzzle hunt is released all at once as a PDF, making it a Puzzle Packet, and typically contain about 10 puzzles with a metapuzzle. The themes of the Labor Day Extravaganzas have taken from mythologies from various cultures around the world. Finishing involves emailing Mark Halpin the answer to the metapuzzle, and the fastest 10-20 finishers are listed on the website. Hints and solutions are usually released for each puzzle after some time.
