Lil' Tykes Play Structure is an assembly puzzle from the Creative Pictures Studios round of the 2020 MIT Mystery Hunt.
Puzzle Elements[edit | edit source]
Word Puzzle (Miscellaneous) - The puzzle consists of a large number of pieces, some without a bar between them. They are intended to be filled with letters, such that spaces without a border between them share the same letter (in a way very similar to a Split Decisions puzzle).
Hint in Flavortext - The flavortext vaguely hints at what each of the pieces should be filled with...
Knowledge Required (Literature) - ..."well-versed" and "kids' structures" both hint towards nursery rhymes. Each one fits within one of the pieces, respecting the above constraint and with each word fitting onto one line (though the reverse is not necessarily true).
Jigsaw Puzzle - The goal is to assemble the puzzle in a way that respects the global constraint above. There is a single way to do so; the final answer is formed by the grid's shape.
