Hunt Series Chronology | |
The introductory section of the article should include the Name of the Hunt in bold, along with a brief description. Barring unavailability, the first sentence should include what number entry the hunt is in its series, if applicable, and the date on which the hunt officially began.
The following information should be included in some way in the introduction:
- Running team or organization.
- Basic theming and surface plot details
- Any particularly unique elements of the hunt as a whole that differentiates it from other entries in the series.
Details of late game plot, and raw numbers/figures (such as attendance numbers or puzzle count) should be avoided in this section, as they have a better home in other sections.
State diagrams, as seen in MIT Mystery Hunt 2020 and others are being created by wiki members and will be added over time.
Plot[edit | edit source]
A summary of the hunt's plot (if it has one) should be detailed here. Avoid mention of any puzzle or metapuzzle answers here, and make sure to use spoiler tags for material relevant to puzzle/metapuzzle mechanics or puzzle-relevant round structure.
List of Rounds/Puzzles[edit | edit source]
Depending on the size of the hunt and whether or not rounds get their own pages, this section may be populated with a list of all puzzles, or a list of all rounds.
Round Title | Number of Feeder Puzzles | Number of Metapuzzles |
---|---|---|
Round Name | Number | Number |
Round Name | Number | Number |
Unlock guide[edit | edit source]
Notes on how unlocks worked during the hunt, particularly with regards to ordering and puzzle width, should be listed here. This includes the following:
- Number of puzzles unlocked at a given time
- Unlock order if it isn't 'in reading order'
- When particular story/site updates occur.
Some information may be spoiler-tagged, particularly if it contains key information about how a particular puzzle is solved or a secret mechanic in the hunt.
State diagram[edit | edit source]
Note: This section is optional.
Longer hunts may benefit from a state diagram or similar flowchart to represent how solvers would progress through the hunt, and how the basic unlock structure functioned. This can be done through various sources, including Create.ly, Visual Paradigm, other drafting software, or by hand. Final designs may be remade in a different medium for consistency.
Accolades[edit | edit source]
Note: This section is optional.
Some hunts may have accolades from various puzzle awards ceremonies. These can be reflected in a table as seen below:
Award | Date of Ceremony | Category | Result |
---|---|---|---|
Bravo Awards | January 13, 2022 | Best Presentation | Won |
Award Ceremony | Date | Category | Won/Runner-Up/Nominated/Honorable Mention |
Award Ceremony | Date | Category | Won/Runner-Up/Nominated/Honorable Mention |

Reviews and write-ups[edit | edit source]
Note: This section is optional. A template will be coming soon to standardize these sections.
The puzzle community often discusses hunts after they've been completed, and as a result, blog posts summarizing/reviewing hunts and retrospectives from the writing teams are common. These do NOT include short-form reviews from social media in general, nor do they include official end-of-hunt wrapups (as those will already be listed in the hunt sidebar).
Lists of these should be formatted as follows:
From the organizers[edit | edit source]
- Retrospectives from individual hunt-runners should go here in list format.
From solvers[edit | edit source]
- Reviews and summaries of the hunt from those who have participated in it should go here in list format.
Leaderboard[edit | edit source]
Note: This section is optional.
Explanatory comment about how the leaderboard was synthesized, especially if derived from a guess log rather than taken from a web page. See Wiki:Hunt Leaderboards for more information and instructions on how to add these.
