Aviation Laws

Aviation Laws is a team that participates in puzzle hunts. The team was formed in 2016, a week after the end of 2016 MIT Mystery Hunt, after some members of the The Black Watchmen ARG community created a small group to discuss Matt Gaffney's Weekly Crossword Contest. Subsequently, the group decided to make an attempt at post-solving the 2016 MIT Mystery Hunt. After finding themselves out of their depth, they pivoted to solving the then-relatively-new Puzzle Boats 1-3 (under the names SIGIL, The Black Watchmen, and Buzzle Boat), before returning to the MIT Mystery Hunt to finish what they had started, recruiting other members of the TBW community along the way. As a team, they hunted in the 2017 Mystery Hunt as well as the 2018 hunt. For the 2019 MIT Mystery Hunt, they merged with Test Solution, Please Ignore, to form Test Solution Bees Ignore, though the group still hunts independently in some online hunts, albeit rarely.[1] Since 2021, original Aviation Laws team members have split up and now reside on either TSBI, or ⛎ UNICODE EQUIVALENCE.

The team name is a reference to the opening line of the 2007 film Bee Movie ("According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly").
