Galactic Puzzle Hunt Chronology

Galactic Puzzle Hunt 2018, titled The Great Galactic Bakeoff, was the second iteration of the Galactic Puzzle Hunt, run by ✈✈✈ Galactic Trendsetters ✈✈✈. This was the first Galactic Puzzle Hunt to feature progression-based unlocks, as puzzles would unlock based on what puzzles the team has solved, instead of unlocking at a set schedule. The puzzle hunt was themed after the incremental game Cookie Clicker and cookies in general. Initially, puzzles are unlocked through clicking on a cookie in order to increase the number of cookies. However, the cookie requirement quickly becomes infeasible to attain through simply clicking, and therefore teams must solve puzzles to advance.

Plot[edit | edit source]

The first part involves a contest where the first team to reach a billion cookies would win. One team quickly reaches this goal - COOKIECOOKIECOOKIE - and the hunt is won.[1] However, this raises suspicions as it turns out that this team has not solved a single puzzle. Instead, teams solve the Consolation Prize meta in order to determine the identity of this suspicious team, and determine that it is actually the Cookie Monster! The next rounds unlock abilities to use at the Great Galactic Bakery, where the Cookie Monster is stationed. The endgame involves bringing the number of cookies that Cookie Monster has down to 0.
