Edric's 2022 Treasure Hunt (the fifth in the series) went live at 8:00 p.m. EDT on the first Friday in April, 2022. The hunt was comprised of a linear series of five puzzles; solving one puzzle would lead the solver to the next, until the end of the hunt was reached. The nature of the five puzzles were:

  • A pigpen cipher puzzle
  • A paper-manipulation/semaphore/word-assembly puzzle
  • A model-building/cryptography puzzle
  • A text-based puzzle
  • Another text-based puzzle

Deviations from tradition

In keeping with its theme, in 2022 the Treasure Hunt was temporarily re-branded as "The 2022 Worldwide Man-Hunt." The hunt was presented as a sort of "spin-off" from the 2021 Truzzle Hunt, ostensibly following the trail of the mysterious figure who set the "Who Wrote This?" puzzle in the earlier hunt. (It is not necessary to have any knowledge of the 2021 Truzzle Hunt to solve the "Man-Hunt," however.)
