Iron Puzzler was a puzzle construction challenge that took place in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Seattle Area that was founded in 2004 by Greg deBeer and Endgame. Six teams of up to six were given a list of "ingredients" a day in advance, and were tasked to write two different puzzles (one that could fit on a single sheet of paper, and one that could not) incorporating at least two of these ingredients within 24 hours. Thereafter, these teams would race to solve the other puzzles, as well as judging the puzzles based on the use of ingredients, presentation, and fun.[1] The name and format are inspired from the television cooking series Iron Chef.
The puzzles in the 2008 edition of Iron Puzzler were later rehosted as Bay Area Night Game as BANG 18.
