P.I.HUNT 9, officially stylized as R.T.3 SEARCH, is the ninth iteration of the P.I.HUNT, a puzzle hunt written by Jack Lance released annually on Pi Day. It was released on March 14, 2023. The alternative title alludes to the fact that the square root of 3, about 1.73, refers to the date January 73rd, which coincides with March 14th on non-leap years.[1] This hunt was formatted as a riddle trail with several sequences of "riddles". Unlike a typical hunt puzzle, these riddles are often solved by means other than getting a dictionary-nature answer. Additionally, the answers to the riddles do not feed into a metapuzzle; instead, the riddles in the sequence explore mechanical variations on a theme.

List of Puzzles

Upon starting the riddle search, solvers are presented with a map, which can be divided up into clusters that represent individual sequences. The next column is unlocked when at least one sequence in the previous column is completed (that is, the capstone riddle is solved).
