Hunt Puzzle

A Hunt Puzzle or Puzzle is a special type of puzzle that is solved during Puzzle Hunts. Hunt puzzles are usually not limited by their genre and can be of any type whatsoever, including grid logic, crossword or wordplay, indexing and searching, etc. They are also distinguished by having an explicit extraction step, which involves getting a short answer (phrase) out of the solved puzzle. This answer can be checked to confirm if the Puzzle was solved correctly or not, and is often the only factor that counts whether or not the puzzle is "solved".
