Singapore Puzzle Hunt 2023 was the 9th iteration of the Singapore Puzzle Hunt, with kick-off occurring on October 28th, 2023.
Pre-hunt, the website and registration page contained the following blurb about the hunt theme - "You and your group of puzzle-solving friends have been invited by an ex-schoolmate from your university days to join her for a gathering. She is in town to meet the family of her boyfriend, who are steeped in puzzles. Being only a puzzle novice herself, she needs you and your skills to help her out with making a good impression and earning the approval of the family."
This year's Singapore Puzzle Hunt had an intentional decrease in puzzle difficulty relative to past years, so that teams could solve more puzzles and make more progress within the hunt duration of one and a half days.

Plot[edit | edit source]
The theme for this year's Singapore Puzzle Hunt is "Puzzle Rich Asians" (referencing Crazy Rich Asians). Teams play the role of a group of puzzle-solving friends who had to help their ex-schoolmate with earning the approval of her boyfriend's puzzle rich Asian family.
There are 8 Gathering round puzzles themed after different family relatives. After solving the round meta, teams figured out what the family relatives like and participated in a post-meta interaction with Hunt HQ where they prepared a gift fitting the meta answer requirements to please everyone. But the matriarch has set a series of engagement challenges which teams must again help solve and overcome.
There are 13 Engagement Challenge round puzzles themed after different tasks. After solving the round meta, teams earned the approval of the matriarch for the engagement and helped their friend to join the ranks of Puzzle Rich Asians.
