Death and Mayhem

Death and Mayhem is a team that participates in the MIT Mystery Hunt. The team was formed in 2013 as the result of the merger of two teams Death from Above and Project Electric Mayhem. The team has consistently been in the top 5 in every hunt that they have participated in, additionally winning the 2017 Mystery Hunt and subsequently hosting the 2018 edition, under the name Life and Order. Additionally, members of Death and Mayhem have hosted various BAPHLs. Subteams of Death and Mayhem for online hunts include Pluru.

History[edit | edit source]

Death and Mayhem was formed from a merger of Death from Above and Project Electric Mayhem (a Fight Club and Muppets reference), two teams with MIT East Campus ties. The team also has strong ties with MIT's CSAIL (Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory) program, and typically hunts from their headquarters in the Stata Center. For hunt management, the team uses an in-house framework called Jolly Roger.[1] The team hosts several practice hunts, including BAPHL 13 and BAPHL 15 (which were run by members of D&M), but access is restricted to D&M members.[2]
