The SUMS Puzzle Hunt 2016 was the 8th iteration of the SUMS Puzzle Hunt, run by the Sydney University Maths Society. It follows the Australian hunt format, with four puzzles were released each day for five days, with the metapuzzle also released on the fifth day. On the last day, an additional set of 20 minipuzzles unlocked, which did not contribute to the solve count but was relevant for the meta. The theme of the hunt was Pokemon. Jigglyplugh was the winning team and top Australian team, as the highest scoring team at 91 points. They were also the only team to solve all 20 puzzles in the hunt. The team [pi] was the overall second place team, and won the meta prize for being the first team to solve the meta puzzle at 7:48 PM AEST, 2 Jan 2017.
