Duck Soup

Duck Soup is a team that participates in puzzle hunts. Duck Soup is currently open to new members, and participates in many online puzzle hunts in addition to the MIT Mystery Hunt. Sister teams of Duck Soup include Keep Puzzling and Moose Capers.

In 2023, Literally Animal Farm split off from Duck Soup.

History[edit | edit source]

The team was formed in 2008 from a merger of two groups of MIT friends that had hunted in the 2007 MIT Mystery Hunt, one of them as Team Onigiri and the other as members of Super Team Awesome. It has participated in every MITMH since 2008. Early on, Duck Soup was made up of MIT students and alums, but in 2011 the team opened up and joined with members of the TV Tropes community and elsewhere. Since then, it has grown primarily by word of mouth, and now has members from multiple continents. In recent years, Duck Soup has also participated in other hunts, while joining up with some smaller teams for larger events such as the Mystery Hunts.

The team name is taken from the Marx Brothers movie of the same name, a favorite of one of the co-founders.
