This is a list of puzzle hunts, separated into those held as online events (with defined start and end times, team registration, leaderboards, etc) and "offline" collections (often untimed and provided in standalone, downloadable PDF or HTML form).
Live Puzzle Hunt events
These events require teams to go from location to location to solve puzzles, and puzzles may make heavy use of the surrounding physical environment.
Conference Room Puzzle Hunt events
These events have a set location, but generally teams will stay in one room or area while solving puzzles, possibly moving around during a runaround or fairly sparse location-based puzzles. Remote hunters are usually supported to some extent for these hunts. During the COVID pandemic, many of these hunts were run as online puzzle hunts instead.
Online puzzle hunt events
These events generally have no expectation of teams needing to be in a particular location, except possibly to be able to do a live endgame, which is optional for the purposes of ranking.
"Offline" puzzle hunt collections
These puzzle hunt collections are released without a particular requirement to participate in the event at a particular time.
Hunt hosting websites
A list of websites where community members can publish hunts follows, with a partial list of hunts.
